General Rule Book



Welcome to NIHM Kolkata! As a student at our institute, it is essential to familiarize yourself with the following rules and guidelines. These rules create a safe, respectful, and conducive learning environment for all students. By adhering to these rules, you contribute to our institute’s overall success and reputation.
Code of Conduct:
Treat all staff, faculty, and fellow students with respect, courtesy, and professionalism.
Behave responsibly and ethically both inside and outside the institute.
Engage in inclusive and tolerant behaviour, respecting diversity and cultural differences.
Avoid disruptive behavior that may interfere with the learning process of others.
Fees submission:
Candidates must follow the proposed fees calendar by the institute, otherwise, they can apply individually for approval from the administration regarding the customized instalment calendar.
Students must keep checking on the notice board as they will get fees & other related information there.
Late fine will be charged after said date by the institute.
Candidates will pay their fees at the reception & collect the bill.
Candidates must keep all the bills during their course as they must produce that at the time of clearance.
Fees can be paid by Cash, Check or bank transfer (Mini statement required).
Attendance and Punctuality:
Attend all classes, practical sessions, and events punctually.
Notify the institute in advance if you are unable to attend any scheduled activity.
Maintain the required minimum attendance percentage as specified by the institute. 80% attendance is required to appear for the examination. If not achieved, a fine will be charged according to the shortage of attendance.
Dress Code and Grooming:
Follow the prescribed dress code as specified by the institute.
Maintain a neat and professional appearance, adhering to grooming guidelines.
Instructors can stop candidates to be allowed in the class if they found anything wrong with the grooming. You will find it on the “Grooming Rule Book” page in detail.
Dress appropriately for different occasions, classes, practical sessions, and industry-related events.
Use of Institute Facilities:
Treat institute facilities, equipment, and resources with care and respect.
Comply with the guidelines and restrictions regarding the use of institute resources.
Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate authorities.
Use of Electronic Devices:
Use electronic devices, such as smartphones and laptops, responsibly and in designated areas. Refrain from using electronic devices in a way that disrupts the learning environment or distracts others.
Safety and Security:
Familiarize yourself with the institute’s emergency procedures and follow them in case of an emergency.
Report any safety hazards, security concerns, or suspicious activities to the institute authorities.
Adhere to fire safety regulations and evacuation procedures.
Regarding Mobile Phones:
Students can carry their phones in theory class.
The phone should be kept Silent or Switched off.
Students should not use their phones while the classes are on.
During Practical Sessions, class tests, and examinations, students have to submit their phones to the reception area.
Disciplinary Actions:
Failure to comply with the institute’s rules and guidelines may result in disciplinary actions.
Disciplinary actions may include verbal or written warnings, probation, suspension, or expulsion, depending on the severity and repetition of the offense.
Please note that this rule book is not exhaustive, and additional rules or guidelines may be communicated to you by the institute’s administration or faculty. It is your responsibility to stay updated with any changes or additions.
